SOP FOR FOOTWEAR CLEANING IN THE PHARMACEUTICAL INDUSTRY
1.0 OBJECTIVE:
To lay down the procedure for footwear Cleaning.
2.0 SCOPE:
This procedure is applicable for cleaning all types of footwear issued to the Company workers for working in the production area of Pharma hub limited, Unit-I.

5.0 PROCEDURE
5.1 Cleaning operation for footwear will be performed every week (7 ± 2 days) or when necessary.
5.2 Collect the footwear of all employees (male and female ) from the change room of every section/department in a poly bag.
5.3 Affix the to be cleaned label on a poly bog.
5.4 Transfer the footwear to the washing area/ laundry area.
5.6 Segregate the damaged footwear for rejection.
5.7 Soak the footwear in a solution of warm water and liquid soap/ 1% v/v teepol solution for one and half hours.
5.8 Use a nylon scrubber to thoroughly clean the inside and outside of the footwear.
5.9 To remove soap solution/ teepol solution wash the footwear with water.
5.10 Dry footwear with cleaned duster/ compressed air.
5.11 Record the cleaning of footwear as per annexure-I.
5.12 Transfer the footwear to the respective change room.
Remark: After B-type cleaning footwear shall clean with 1% v/v teepol solution and sanitize with 70% IPA solution by dipping 30 minutes as per respective core area SOP.
